Oooh we’re not jumping on the bandwagon in the least! Look back through our archives and you’ll see that we did a Bayeux Tapestry day school all the way back in 2019. And of course we did – both of us are after all medievalists by scholarly background (and Joanna’s an Anglo-Normanist in particular). So events have just caught up with us; not the other way around!!

…Ahem. Well OK… We’re not fooling anyone, are we?! But we couldn’t not do a Bayeux Tapestry course to celebrate the fact that the tapestry has just landed (just a week ago, at time of going to press) on English soil, and will be the focus of what must surely be the Big Ticket exhibition of 2026-7. We’re very excited, and we know that some of you are too. There’s plenty of time for you all (and one of us) to go and see it – armed with a lot of information about its historical context, the circumstances of its making, and the rude men in the margins. You can’t miss this one!
