The twelfth and thirteenth centuries saw an explosion of creative, spiritual, and scholarly energy in medieval Europe. It’s the era of Gothic architecture, the first universities, and the great monastic orders.

Over ten weeks, we will explore facets of this vibrant world, from the Paris of Abelard to the Crusader States in the East. There will be a special focus on trade and commerce, as well as technology and invention. And throughout, of course, we will delight in some sublime art and architecture.

Prepare to be amazed!
